Due to newly created rules, paediatricians should now report all cases to the Department of Labour, Social Affairs and Family for instances where they had been prevented from performing preventive check-ups of newborn babies at home.
Such a check-up is to be performed within three working days of the delivery of a hospital discharge report. Director General of the health section of the Health Ministry Mário Mikloši explained that this measure is aimed at disciplining a small group of irresponsible parents who neglect the needs of their newborn children.
