The court trial of Juraj H, accused of killing Filipino Henry Acorda in downtown Bratislava last May, began on Monday. The 28 year-old Slovak said he was drunk at the time and admitted beating Acorda, who had tried to defend two young ladies whom Juraj H was verbally harassing. A few days later the 36 year-old Filipino, who had been working in Bratislava for some time, died of his injuries in hospital. The prosecutor charged the attacker with homicide punishable by 12 years in prison, a charge Juraj H rejects.
