At the end of last year, labor offices in Slovakia recorded 32,400 people who were unemployed for more than four years. Although this number dropped by 24 percent year-on-year, it still represents about a fifth of all unemployed people. The largest group of such long-term unemployed live in Prešov County. The registered unemployment rate in Slovakia at the end of last year dropped to 5.04 percent.
