Deputy Parliamentary Speaker in trouble

Parliamentary Vice-chairman Martin Glvac (Smer-SD) should explain his communication with a woman identified due to legal reasons only as Alena Zs., who has been charged with ordering the murder of journalist Jan Kuciak and his fiancée, in the coming days, stated Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini (Smer-SD) on Monday, who met Glvac in this regard. The premier added that given the fact that the communication in question forms part of an investigation file, Glvac is currently seeking permission from the responsible authorities, adding that Glvac will answer questions from the media after the authorities allow him to do so. The premier also said that Glvac turned to the state bodies immediately after he was contacted by the person in question, and not only after Alena Zs. was arrested. Pellegrini added that he doesn't like the fact that unauthorised figures have been able to read the investigation file. Dennik N daily, referring to information from the investigation, reported that Alena Zs. communicated with several influential people over the past few years, including Deputy Prosecutor-General Rene Vanek (who has been dismissed as a result), Glvac, MP and We Are Family leader Boris Kollar, Bratislava Governor Juraj Droba, and Parliamentary Chair Andrej Danko (SNS). Glvac claims that all his communications with the woman in question were through third parties. Whether or not Glvac still enjoys the confidence of the Smer-SD party will be decided by a meeting of the party leadership due to take place later this week.
