In 2018, the Slovak Interior Ministry took part in giving out humanitarian aid to the amount of €295.000. According to the ministry, the largest portion, over 72%, was sent to Iraqi hospitals in the form of medical devices produced in Slovakia. Apart from that, this assistance was provided to Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Afghanistan. As Marián Dritomský, General Director of the Crisis Management Section at the Interior Ministry, said, the assistance is coordinated from the EU level. Based on requests, the Union manages the aid sent from all countries. According to Dritomský, the Interior Ministry also cooperates with the Foreign and European Affairs Ministry in giving aid.
