Bratislava railway station plans flop

The reconstruction work at Bratislava's main railway station has partly advanced, but the station won't be revamped by May as planned, stated Transport Minister Arpad Ersek on Wednesday ahead of the Cabinet session. The ministry wanted to see the reconstruction work completed before May, when the Ice Hockey World Championship is due to take place in Slovakia. Ersek said that by May it would only be possible to launch tenders for lighting, cleaning services and toilets. Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini announced in August that the Government would earmark €2.8 million for reconstructing Bratislava's main railway station.
