Discussion between politicians and experts will lead to the introduction of so called expenditure caps in Slovakia in 2019, Finance Minister Peter Kažimír believes. As the TASR press agency wrote, this model is known especially in Anglo-Saxon countries, where it determines what the state can afford from the perspective of the state budget. According to Kažimír, the question is to what extent we want to leave decision making in the public finance sector to machines or whether we want to keep the influence of the human factor. The Finance Minister expects the results of a political-expert consensus to be tested over the next two years and subsequently adopted into the law on budget responsibility.
