The Defence Ministry wants to continue its modernisation of the armed forces this year. According to Defence Minister Peter Gajdoš, this includes launching the production of Zuzana 2 howitzers, and also plans to additionally arm its UH-60M Black Hawk military helicopters. The minister stated that the helicopters in their current state cannot provide support to ground and special forces, including paratroopers. There are currently 4 military helicopters in Slovakia, with another 5 to be acquired this year. During the year the Defence Ministry wants to submit a proposal to the government for the acquisition of 3D radio-locators. It remains unclear which country will be supplying the radars.
