Snow has covered roads, blocked road-maintenance trucks and cut off some villages from the infrastructure. On Thursday, heavy snowfall resulted in several accidents in Slovakia, especially on the roads. A bus slipped off the road at the Donovaly mountain pass, and public transport in some parts of Bratislava was blocked. Also on Thursday, the Slovak capital launched a hotline for citizens to report the need for winter maintenance. If several people report a walkway, and the city evaluates it as a sufficiently important stretch, they will send an emergency crew to the site.
