Slovakia's rotating presidency in the Visegrad Group is quite eventful, with more than one hundred events already held and more than a hundred still to go. The Slovak Republic is currently holding its fifth Presidency of the Visegrad Group - Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary - from July 2018 until June 2019. Among the most anticipated meetings will definitely be that between the groups' prime ministers and German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Slovakia's Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajčák acknowledges that the Slovak presidency is making efforts to improve the image of the V4, which had begun to deteriorate in connection with the 2015 migration crisis. Lajčák does not want the V4 to be perceived as a problem, but rather as part of the solution.
