The Ministry of Transport has announced that the D1 motorway from Bratislava to Košice will be finished in late 2025 or early 2026 if no complications occur. The National Highway Company considers its projected completion in 2026 to be realistic, but, when speaking to the think-tank Institute for Economic and Social Reforms, it estimated the deadline at 2027. This date also takes into account possible delays.
