People with the lowest wages could be paying lower taxes in the future. Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini said that he wants to open a debate within the ruling coalition on the tax burden of low-income groups. He provided no further details on this, but did not rule out that this may already apply to personal income for 2019. According to Finance Minister Peter Kažimír, the finance department has already begun the process of changing the laws on income tax and certain other fees. "In the coming weeks, we will gather contributions from professionals, employers, companies, tax advisers and auditors," added Kažimír. The plan is to present a proposal at the end of May, once the coalition parties have approved it.
