The second best Slovak football player of the 20th century Jozef Adamec passed away at 76 on Monday. Adamec made his Czechoslovak league debut under coach Anton Malatinský for Spartak Trnava as a 17-year-old in March 1959. He played 383 matches there and holds the 10th place in the Czechoslovak All-time Top scorers Table with 170 goals. He participated twice in the FIFA World Cup, in 1962 and 1970. The most memorable highlight of his career was a hat-trick in the Czechoslovakia-Brazil match (3:2), played on June 23, 1968, at a packed 60,000-capacity stadium in Bratislava.
