The unemployment rate in Slovakia stood at 5.09 percent in November, down by 0.14 percentage points (p.p.) from October and by 0.86 p.p. year-on-year. This stems from the data released by the Labour, Social Affairs and the Family Centre on Thursday. The number of jobseekers immediately able to start work was a little under 140,000, while the total number of jobseekers stood at around 170,000 in November. From the point of view of employing foreigners, 1,351 working foreigners came to Slovakia last month, including about 1,000 from so-called third countries. According to the Labour Ministry, there are currently 66,610 foreigners working in Slovakia, of whom 34,062 come from EU countries.
