Marking the 100th anniversary of its foundation, Masaryk University in Brno will award the Slovak President Andrej Kiska with a Great Gold Medal. The Slovak president will receive the medal, which the University awards to the most prominent domestic and foreign representatives of public life in recognition of their merits for democracy and humanity, at a ceremony due to take place on January 29. In the past, the medal was given to the Prince of Liechtenstein Hans Adam II, Charles, Prince of Wales as well as to the former US secretary of state Madeleine Albright.
