The growth of the Slovak economy is projected at 4.2 percent this year. This estimate follows from the latest mid-term prognosis by the Slovak Central Bank (NBS), which increased the estimates of 2018 GDP growth by 0.2 percentage points, from the previous prognosis. Thus, GDP growth is expected to stand at 4.2 percent this year and reach a peak at 4.3 percent in 2019, due to the launch of the Jaguar Land Rover production. Later, the Slovak economy is estimated to slow down to 4 percent in 2020 as part of a cyclical downturn and 3.1 percent in 2021. Inflation is projected to stand, close to 2.6 percent.
