Young adult Slovaks living with parents

Slovakia is one of the countries with the highest numbers of young people aged 16-29 in the European Union who still live with their parents. As Slovenska Sporitelna further informed, based on Eurostat data, Slovakia came in third, behind Croatia and Malta. The lowest percentage of young people living with parents is in Finland and Denmark. In the past seven years, the number of young people living in parental households has decreased slightly in the Slovak Republic. However, in the group of young people aged 20-24, there is still a high proportion of young people remaining at home, up to 93% of cases. In the 25-29 age group, two-thirds of young people still live with their parents. Compared to the surrounding countries, young people in Slovakia are least inclined to become independent from their parents.
