On Saturday, Slovak scouts will bring the light from Betlehem to Slovakia. It will be passed on to them at an ecumenical service in the Roman Catholic cathedral of Mariendom in Linz, Austria. Until December 24, the scouts will spread the light as the symbol of peace and love into more than 330 towns and vilages across Slovakia. The tradition of passing on the "eternal light" from Betlehem is rooted in the 11th century. In Slovakia, the scouts started to spread this tradition in 1989.
