Slovakia's Government on Wednesday approved Bratislava's bid to acquire the seat of the European Labour Authority (ELA). European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker in the State of the European Union address announced the bid already in September 2017. According to the Slovak Labour Ministry, Bratislava may be a strong candidate for hosting this agency, since it is in the Eurozone, yet is also the Eurozone's last country without an EU agency. The ELA's annual budget once the agency is set up in 2023 should exceed €50 million.
