Two new bridges between Slovakia and Hungary

Two new bridges are set to be built on the Slovak-Hungarian border. Slovak Transport Minister Arpad Ersek (Most-Hid) and Laszlo Mosoczi of the Hungarian Innovation and Technology Ministry signed an agreement to this effect on Tuesday. Slovakia and Hungary will share the construction costs equally. The bridge over the Danube river for pedestrians and cyclists only should be built between the Slovak village of Dobrohost, western Slovakia, and the Hungarian village of Dunakility. Slovakia will pay some €4.9 million for it. The second bridge leading over the Ipel river should join the Slovak village of Vrbovka, central Slovakia, and the Hungarian village of Orhalom. This one should be open for vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians and Slovakia's costs are expected to amount to some €1.2 million.
