Minorities living in Slovakia will receive €3.83 million for cultural activities this year; approximately 10 percent less year on year, according to the former government proxy for minorities Laszlo Nagy.
The largest sum is being allocated to Hungarian ethnics who will receive €1.98 million for radio and TV programmes in their language and the organisation of cultural events. Roma come next with about a third of the sum earmarked for Hungarians, while Ruthenians are to receive a quarter of a million euro. Other minorities which will receive support from the state budget include Ukrainians, Germans, Poles, Jews, Russians, Croats, Bulgarians, Moravians, and Serbs.
