Slovakia goes for European Labour Agency

Slovakia became an official candidate for the seat of the European Labour Agency as of Thursday. Labour Minister Ján Richter informed TASR during the meeting of the EU Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs Council. "Five European countries lack the presence of a European agency but Slovakia is the only one located in the Schengen area and Eurozone. Slovakia failed in its bid for the European Medicines Agency in 2017. The agency ensuring that EU rules on labour mobility be enforced in a fair, simple and effective way should start operating as of 2019 with about 150 employees.
