On Wednesday, an extraordinary session of the National Security Analysis Centre was convened regarding Slovakia's readiness for a potential escalation of the crisis between Ukraine and Russia. Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini informed that Slovakia has to count on crisis scenarios in this respect, meaning massive migration or an energy crisis. According to Pellegrini, the Slovak government has to be ready for the situation in which Russia would stop its gas supplies via Ukraine as it had already done in 2009. The prime minister assured that Slovakia has natural gas reserves for 105 days and at the same time it can provide efficient supplies through a reverse stream. "Until now, the situation has been safe, Slovakia is not endangered by any incidents, however, the Government cannot underestimate it," concluded the prime minister.
