Liberals from the Freedom and Solidarity party want to win the next parliamentary election and will do everything they can to achieve this goal. This stems from the party's Saturday program conference, which also addressed the upcoming elections to the European parliament. The party's chair Richard Sulík announced that he would not run again in next year's European Parliament elections as he personally wants to focus on the parliamentary elections. Sulík, known for his loud Euroscepticism, was elected to the EP in 2014. "From the beginning of next year, I will spend all the time going across Slovakia to meet people and explain to them that Freedom and Solidarity is ready to take responsibility for Slovakia, our beautiful country, and that we have the people, programme, organisation, and above all the determination to do this," stated Sulík, adding that their goal was to replace Robert Fico's Smer-SD. The Slovak liberals will be led to next year's European Parliament election by Eugen Jurzyca, Alojz Baránik and Lucia Ďuriš Nicholsonová.
