The Education Ministry is preparing an amendment to the Higher Education Act, which will allow wrongfully acquired academic titles to be revoked. At Friday's news conference, Minister Martina Lubyová announced the new measure and specified that the Czech law would inspire the amendment. In the Czech Republic, the rector of the respective university has the power to revoke degrees. The amendment is to set out uniform binding rules, procedures, and grounds for stripping graduates of academic titles.
