Former Slovak policeman extradited from US

The local court in California, United States, agreed to Slovakia's request to extradite the former police officer Slovak Vladimír Blaško charged and sentenced for abuse of power and grievous bodily harm. As the TASR press agency wrote, in 2007 Blaško committed malfeasance in office in the village of Štitáre, Nitra region by beating a detained woman. In 2009, he was released from duty and in 2010 charges were pressed against him. While not being present in the court, Blaško was sentenced to four years in prison. Later an international arrest warrant was issued against him. In February 2017, Slovakia requested the US to extradite Blaško. Subsequently, he was arrested in the US. According to TASR, last week the local court in California decided that Blaškou should be extradited to Slovakia.
