Prognosis: Slovakia will need 514,000 new workers in next 5 years

On Friday, the Labour Ministry launched a road show for all Slovak regions as part of a project called presenting the latest results of prognoses of demand on the labour market to educational and career counsellors. The prognosis, drawn up by a company called Trexima, includes a detailed analysis of the overall situation and predicts developments over the next five years. According to the documents, Slovakia will need 514,000 new workers up to 2023. As many as 60 percent of them will replace those leaving to retire. Job opportunities will chiefly be created in industry, trade, education, the health-care sector, transport and construction. The Bratislava region will have the highest number of job opportunities with 90,000, followed by the Nitra region with 70,000. The lowest number of jobs will be created in the Banská Bystrica and Prešov regions.
