Migration issues, the EU budget as well as a supply of helicopters for Slovak police and firefighters were among the topics discussed by the Slovak PM Peter Pellegrini with his Italian counterpart Giuseppe Conte in Rome on Wednesday. Both premiers also discussed the issue of migration and the option of the temporary resettlement of asylum seekers from refugee centres in Italy to Slovakia. According to Pellegrini, Slovakia possesses an infrastructure in Gabčíkovo, which can be put to use as in the case of Austria, when Slovakia volunteered to take off some of the burden from neighbouring countries. Pellegrini and Conte spoke also about the future Slovak presidency of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe that Bratislava takes over from Rome on January 1, 2019.
