The unemployment rate in Slovakia stood at 5.2 percent in October, down by 0.91 percentage points year-on-year, according to data released by the Slovak Labour Office on Monday. All regions reported a monthly drop in the unemployment rate with the Košice region showing the most significant fall. Labour offices reported 82,767 job vacancies in late October, down by 2 percent in comparison to the previous month. The highest number of available jobs was posted in the Bratislava region and the lowest in the Banská Bystrica region. However, there are still a total of 68,700 long-term unemployed individuals registered with labour offices.
