International press organisations demand an end to questioning of activists

Two international press organisations - the European Centre for Freedom of the Press and Media (ECPMF) and Reporters Without Borders (RSF) - on Wednesday called on the Slovak Interior Ministry, the National Crime Agency (NAKA) and the Police Corps to stop questioning the organisers and participants in the For a Decent Slovakia protests. The press organisations expressed their shock over the fact that the Slovak institutions are letting themselves be dragged into criminal proceedings against "brave young people who demand justice for the murders of Ján Kuciak and Martina Kušnírová". On Wednesday, more than 400 Slovak journalists signed a call asking the former PM Robert Fico to stop attacking the free press in his speeches.
