Malta and Slovakia May Cooperate in Joint Ventures

Malta could engage in cooperation with Slovakia via joint enterprises, with both countries then making use of their strategic locations in southern and central Europe respectively, Malta's President George Abela said at a 'Malta - Slovakia' business forum in Bratislava on Thursday.

He also added that northern African markets are open not only for Malta but also for Slovakia, and this potential needs to be realised. However, he cautioned that the two countries are too small to make business on their own, but together they're able to be competitive in larger markets, especially in the financial sector, which according to Abela, sees Malta as a well-established and competent player.
