Entrepreneurs view ten years of euro in Slovakia positively

As many as 83 percent of firms and the self-employed in Slovakia are happy with the adoption of the euro currency, whereas 15 percent of companies are dissatisfied with it, TASR learnt from a poll carried out for ČSOB bank by information consultancy firm Datank. Slovakia joined the eurozone and started using the euro in 2009. Sixty percent of the respondents said that the euro has had a positive impact on their business. Conversely, less than 13 percent stated that the European currency has created a negative impact. If they had to choose currencies once again, most (86 percent) entrepreneurs as well as small, medium-sized and large companies would once again opt for the euro. According to Koloman Buzgó of ČSOB, businessmen mainly see the elimination of exchange rate differences, currency unification and the simplification of trade and administration as the main advantages of the euro.
