If the United Kingdom leaves the European Union without a deal, Slovakia could lose at least 7,500 jobs, according to an analysis performed by the multinational consultancy firm Coface. "In terms of nominal GDP, this would represent up to 6%. Our analysts used Eurostat data on employment in the automotive sector in Slovakia in 2017. It's not only carmakers as such, but other relevant sectors in the automotive chain would be impacted too," said Juraj Janči, Coface's country manager for Slovakia. On Tuesday Michel Barnier, the EU's Chief Negotiator for Brexit, has been visiting Bratislava to hold talks with Slovak top Government officials on the state of the negotiations.
