The state budget recorded a deficit of €413.7 million in October, which was 45% lower than the deficit reported up to the same point of last year, according to a Finance Ministry report. In the same period, state budget incomes grew by 9.4% and with expenditures recorded an increase of 5.9%. According to the Finance Ministry, the overall y-o-y increase in tax revenues stood at 7.2%. "Positive developments included [revenue increases of] €402.1 million in VAT, €182.2 million in corporate tax, €55.8 million in excise tax and €27.8 million in withholding tax," stated the ministry. Conversely, revenues from personal income tax fell by €10.7 million.
