Slovak researchers claim that they have developed a self-cleaning material to be used on camouflaged overalls within the military. Scientists managed to imitate the self-cleaning effect of the lotus leaf.
The material will not allow water to penetrate the fabric; on the contrary the water droplets roll off its surface and thus clean the dirt off the clothing. Moreover, the material is more solid, less flammable, is anti-bacterial, and can be printed on digitally. The project is in the final phase of testing, and at the end of February of this year it should be clear whether or not these uniforms will be put into use by the Slovak army.
