Meeting the Sustainable Development Goals included in the Agenda 2030 has progressed since its adoption in 2015, but not sufficiently, stated Slovak Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajčák in Geneva. He was speaking at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development World Investment Forum on Thursday. Rising sea levels rising, continuing famine in the world as well as extremely hot weather in 2017 show that increased activity is needed in this area, said Lajčák. He pointed out that public finances are not big enough to meet the sustainable development goals and this is why partnerships with the private sector should be established. The head of Slovak diplomacy also reported on his activities as the president of the 72nd UN General Assembly, which were aimed at developing practical tools to support the funding of sustainable resources.
