Ex secret agent jobless due to alleged spying on journalist

The Financial Administration terminated the employment of Miroslav Kriak, suspected by the media of putting under surveillance the murdered investigative journalist Jan Kuciak and other reporters, wrote TASR on Wednesday. Thus, alongside the former head of the Slovak Intelligence Service, Peter Tóth, Kriak is another person suspected of monitoring journalists on behalf of the controversial entrepreneur Marián K, suspected of ordering the murder of Ján Kuciak.Kriak is a former member of the communist-era secret service (ŠtB) and the Slovak Intelligence Service (SIS). Kriak did not want to comment the situation for the moment. "Every time, when enough information is accumulated, the Prosecutor General's Office provides correct and exhaustive information. Let's leave the law enforcement agencies to do their jobs," said Kriak for the tvnoviny.sk portal.
