Seventy percent of Slovaks admit they spend money unnecessarily on things and services they do not need, according to a representative survey carried out by the agency STEM/MARK in September. Most unnecessary spending is on food and non-alcoholic beverages, together up to 43 percent of cases. Approximately half of Slovaks are at least partially managing to curb such unnecessary expenses, but one in five people are trying in vain to do so. At the same time, 3 percent of Slovaks realize that they have unnecessary expenses, but they do not mind, and therefore they are not planning to reduce them.
