Astronomers from Comenius University in Bratislava installed their equipment in observatories on the Hawaiian Islands. The Amos (All-Sky Meteor Orbit System) was set up at the summits of the Haleakala and Mauna Kea volcanoes. This system for meteor tracking provides scientific information on meteors and indirectly about their maternal bodies, comets and asteroids. Besides four meteorological stations in Slovakia, two Amos stations were built at observatories in the Canary Islands, and in 2016 also in the Atacama Desert in Chile.
