An L-39 military training aircraft crashed between Sliač Air Base and the spa village of Kováčová (Banská Bystrica region) at approximately 2.15 p.m. on Wednesday. "Two parachutes were seen before the aircraft crashed. Both pilots survived and the aircraft was directed into an empty area," stated Defence Minister Peter Gajdoš (SNS). The alleged cause of the incident was engine failure.
