The first surveys on the income situation and living conditions of Roma communities will be conducted in Slovakia. Based on regular EU SILC surveys, the Ministry of the Interior will try to gather information on how and whether living standards are improving. Meanwhile the Government at its session in Eastern Slovakia decided on supporting priests and ministers in their pastoral work with the Roma community. Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini said that he has already met the Archbishop of Bratislava Stanislav Zvolensky and the General Bishop of the Slovak Lutherans Milos Klatik to offer them the Cabinet's support in this regard. According to Pellegrini, such social work from churches could help with the integration of Roma people into society.
