Controversial businessman Marián Kočner might be the person who ordered the murder of the investigative reporter Ján Kuciak. According to the Denník N daily, this stems from a testimony by Zoltán A., one of the four detained and accused concerning Kuciak's murder, who is cooperating with the police. His testimony has been confirmed to the daily by several sources. Meanwhile, the police stated that it refused to comment on the relevance of the media information regarding the ordering of the murder. According to the daily, Kočner has not yet been charged with the murder, but the police are collecting evidence against him. Meanwhile, Marián Kočner has been in custody since June due to the possible falsification of promissory notes for the private broadcaster TV Markíza. In the past, he also threatened Ján Kuciak with finding "dirt on him".
