European Parliament welcomes progress in solving journalist’s murder

European Parliament (EP) President Antonio Tajani has welcomed progress made regarding investigating the murder of Ján Kuciak and his fiancé Martina Kušnírová. "I am very glad that the Slovak authorities already know the names of the murderers and the client, and I have been pushing them for a long time to go ahead with the investigation." he stated on Tuesday at a press conference in Strasbourg. The apprehension of four suspects involved in the murder was also welcomed by Sophie in 't Veld, head of a delegation of MEPs which recently visited Slovakia. "I'm very glad they caught the real murderers. I believe it's highly important, not only for justice, which the family deserves, but also for society in general," she told the Slovak media in Strasbourg.
