The need to simplify and make drawing of EU funds more flexible has been among the main themes of a meeting between the Visegrad Four (V4) director generals responsible for EU Cohesion Policy, TASR learnt from the Office of the Vice-premier for Investment and Informatisation on Tuesday. The representatives of Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland met in a V4+4 format along with Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania and Slovenia between September 24-25 to discuss the future of EU funds after 2020. According to Denisa Žiláková, the director general of the Central Co-ordination Body at the Office of Vice-premier for Informatisation and Investments, it's necessary to hold talks about key issues concerning the future EU funds. "For us, who are responsible for cohesion policy, it's our task to set the functioning of this important European policy so that it brings a clear contribution to the EU's development," she said. The Office of the Vice-premier for Investment and Informatisation pointed out that new draft legislation on EU funds for 2021-2027 has brought about many areas that require further negotiations with the European Commission.
