Slovakia's anti-drug unit of the National Criminal Agency (NAKA) descended upon the districts of Dunajská Streda and Galanta in their ongoing fight against marijuana, with 26 homes and sections being searched, resulting in eight arrests and seven individuals being criminally charged. This information was given to TASR via the spokesperson of the Police Corps Presidium, Michal Slivka. More than three kilograms of prepared marijuana were confiscated, as well as a crop including 68 plants which are to be destroyed. If found guilty, the seven who have been charged with growing marijuana are facing sentences of between ten to fifteen years behind bars. Police believe they have successfully removed more than €33,000 worth of marijuana off the streets.
