It will be possible to conclude collective higher-level agreements in the civil service and the public sector for more than one calendar year. This stems from the amendment to the Collective Bargaining Act presented by the ruling coalition party SMER-SD. President Andrej Kiska has signed it into law. The amendment will enable in a single collective agreement valid for two years to fulfil the agreement between trade unions and the government to raise the salaries of employees in public and state service by 10% over the next two years.
