Britain’s Brexit desires unacceptable, says Slovak Prime Minister

The situation concerning Brexit remains complicated and it seems that each of the parties involved has some red lines that they don't want to cross, said Slovak Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini (Smer-SD) on day two of an informal EU summit in Salzburg, Austria, which was not attended by British PM Theresa May. Britain's notion of keeping for itself only the free movement of goods is unacceptable for other EU members, said Pellegrini, adding that the EU wants to respect all four key freedoms - of goods, services, people and capital. Citing a statement of Theresa May that the United Kingdom will leave the EU as it was announced earlier, regardless of whether an agreement on Brexit is reached or not, without another referendum, Pellegrini said that the remaining 27 EU countries prefer the signing of any agreement. Slovakia supports the summoning of an extraordinary summit concerning Brexit in November, as it doesn't seem that the two sides have come closer in their opinions, added Pellegrini.
