On Thursday, the Slovak Academy of Sciences (SAV) presented two foreign academics who have contributed to the development of Slovak science with an award. They were Professor of Mathematics László Lovász and Professor Michael John Reece, who works in the field of the processing and electromechanical properties of functional materials. According to the academy's chair, Pavol Šajgalík, the institution has a particularly strong ambition to establish itself in a European and even global context; therefore, it awards prizes to foreign colleagues who work with them.
