On Wednesday, the Slovak President Andrej Kiska took part in the commemoration ceremony for the Slovak Jews who died in the Holocaust, by joining the reading of the names of Holocaust victims. At the event, the president called to fight against any similar situation occurring ever again. He asked that people build a "clear and strong barrier" against any type of extremism. According to him, the spread of extremism among people, including with the help of social networks, has never been easier.
The first commemorative reading of the names of Holocaust victims took place in 2009. The names are read aloud from old deportation lists. Even today, Slovakia still does not have a complete list of its Holocaust victims.
