The documentary film Mečiar - The Lust for Power about the former three-time Slovak Prime Minister Vladimír Mečiar was listed among the 15 motion pictures with a chance of winning the European Film Award 2018. As the omediach.com website wrote, the decision to include this movie by director Tereza Nvotová is the biggest success of a Slovak movie, depicting events in its history as part of Czechoslovakia and even after the country's separation. The list of films will be trimmed from 15 to 5 in November, and the winner will be announced in December.
